Pug Rescue of North Carolina (Virginia Beach, VA)
Pug Rescue of North Carolina (PRONC) is a non-profit organization committed to the pug dog breed.
They rescue the dogs in need and nurture them back to health, both physically and mentally.
Until a suitable home is found, each pug is treated as a member of the family in the homes of individual volunteers.
Several pugs come to PRONC with minor to major health issues.
They try their hardest to save every dog that arrives at the rescue, with euthanasia reserved for extreme and extremely rare cases where no other viable option exists.
Every pug in their care is examined by a veterinarian, and they are spayed/neutered, heartworm tested, microchipped, and fully vaccinated.

Cause N Dog Rescue (Snow Hill, NC)
Cause N Dog Rescue and Adoptions in Snow Hill, North Carolina, tackles the most difficult rescue cases.
The majority of the dogs arrive with broken bones, fractures, abrasions, mange, are pregnant, or are homeless.
They are also one of the few facilities that can accept and rehabilitate stray dogs.
Due to limited space, CNDR tries to ensure that each adult large and medium dog space is mostly reserved for the injured and broken. They often do not accept owner surrenders on dogs weighing 20 pounds or more.
Small breeds and puppies are adopted considerably faster, so they can handle more owner surrenders.
